We conduct structured interviews with content owners, subject matter experts, and representative users — establishing the use cases the taxonomy must serve (search, navigation, auto-classification, AI, analytics, regulatory compliance) and the organizational context that will shape design decisions. We identify and resolve the stakeholder misalignments that most taxonomy projects discover too late.

Taxonomy Architecture Design
We design the taxonomy architecture — selecting the appropriate vocabulary type (hierarchical, faceted, polyhierarchical, or thesaurus) and structure calibrated to the specific use cases. We recommend breadth, depth, facet design, and relationship model, with explicit rationale for every structural decision.

Vocabulary Build & Validation
We develop the full controlled vocabulary — preferred terms, synonyms (non-preferred terms), broader/narrower/related relationships, definitions, scope notes, and any specialized metadata attributes required for the target application. We validate the vocabulary against real content and user scenarios, confirming coverage, consistency, and use-case performance before delivery.

Governance Plan & Handover
We deliver taxonomy documentation and a governance plan covering maintenance policies, stewardship roles, indexing and tagging guidelines, change management procedures, and taxonomy management system recommendations — ensuring the vocabulary can be sustained without external support after handover.
