The Situation — When Clients Come to Us

Organizations come to us for data warehousing and BI advisory when:

  • Reports across business units produce different numbers for the same question — because data warehouse architecture, data models, or KPI definitions are inconsistent or undefined
  • An existing data warehouse can’t keep pace with analytics workload demands, costs more than it should, or requires too much manual effort to maintain current reporting
  • A cloud migration or platform modernization is creating the opportunity to redesign the analytics architecture — and the organization needs to determine whether to optimize, migrate, or rebuild before committing to an approach
  • Leadership and operational teams are making decisions from static spreadsheet exports because self-service BI doesn’t exist or isn’t trusted — and the organization wants to change that

What We Do — Our Approach

  1. // Phase 1

    Analytics Requirements & Architecture Assessment

We assess the current data warehouse and BI landscape — architecture, data models, reporting infrastructure, and analytics adoption — against the organization’s current and future requirements. We produce a build-versus-optimize-versus-migrate recommendation with ROI analysis before any architecture commitment is made.

  2. // Phase 2

    Target-State DW Architecture Design

We design the target data warehouse architecture — schema approach (dimensional, data vault, or lakehouse), storage and platform selection advisory, data model design, and the integration architecture connecting source systems to the warehouse.

  3. // Phase 3

    Semantic & BI Layer Design

We design the semantic data model — the business-facing data layer that translates technical warehouse structures into consistent, trusted KPIs, dimensions, and metrics that business users can navigate without IT support. We define business logic, KPI definitions, and calculation standards.

  4. // Phase 4

    BI & Reporting Architecture Design

We design the BI and reporting architecture — platform advisory (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or equivalent), dashboard and report design standards, self-service analytics enablement approach, and the data literacy and change management program required for adoption.

  5. // Phase 5

    Implementation Guidance

We provide the architecture and design documentation package that enables the client team or technology partner to implement the target warehouse and BI environment. We support implementation with design authority reviews and acceptance criteria.

What You Get — Deliverables

  • Analytics requirements assessment and architecture recommendation (build vs. optimize vs. migrate) with ROI analysis
  • Target-state data warehouse architecture design
  • Data model documentation — conceptual, logical, and physical
  • Semantic and BI layer design — KPI definitions, business logic, and calculation standards
  • BI platform evaluation and selection recommendation
  • Dashboard and report design standards and prototypes
  • Self-service analytics enablement approach and adoption plan
  • Data literacy and change management program design
